Hooner Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 Whats the outlook for analogue modulators... we use them extensively in our domestic installs to pipe images throughout the dwellings. With the onset of Digital TV, is it inevitable that sooner or later TV manfs will stop selling TVs with Analogue tuners? If so what is going to come along to replace the RF modulator? ________
breff Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 I've enquired about this in the past, Digital modulators are out there but are very expensive and rare. TV's will continue to have analogue tuners in them IMO as they are made for the worldwide or european markets, just because our tv is going all digital doesn't mean that every country in europe is. The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)

I think you will still be able to use the analogue one if you have an older DVD/Video that can look at an analogue input and output it to a standard video signal viewable via a scart input on the TV? I have been waiting to see what comes along as well, there will be something I'm sure! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Life is like a box of chocolates, some bugger always gets the nice ones! Hi all. Digital modulators that can use up the spare digital channels such as freeview are the way forward. It would be basically a freeview decoder in reverse. We looked it to this in the 1st quarter of this year and the trade price worked out at around System Q Ltd.
