4363phil Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Hope someone can help. Had a light blow the other day. this knocked out all electrics downstairs, easily re-set at the main box. However it also lit up the control panel like a christmas tree with every light on. Alarm not working at all. Tried resetting it this morning by removing the fuse from the spur but this set the bell off and it kep going for about twenty minutes until it had ran out of steam. Followed some advice from this site and got a new battery. Took the fuse out of the spur once more, waited a few secs then put it back in this sent the beeper on the control panel off, inputting my code did nothing, I then connected the new battery, refittd the cover and input my code once again, then hit rest. It still didnt work as the control panel beeper keeps going off. The panel recognises the new battery as it shows power on when the fuse for the mais is disconnected. The old battery shows no power whatsoever. Any suggestions please???????????????
Chorlton Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 hello & welcome from only a mile away, lol. not much help on this one but others that can will be along soon enough. wet & wild in Falkirk today so don't try going up a ladder to disconnect the bellbox whatever you do, lo C.
4363phil Posted October 25, 2008 Author Posted October 25, 2008 Thanks for the advice - not crazy enouogh to even try that one. Besides the bell stopped ringing after twenty minutes and hasn't come back on yet. Are you a alocal engineer - might need to call upon your services if I cant get a response here?
Chorlton Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 I'm in the polmont/brightons area but no use trust me! I only do fire alarms and even thats pushing my limits. We do have a dozen or so other Jock members if we can't help on-line 1st. C.

Try "0123" as the code or you may still have a tamper fault There are no stupid questions, but there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots.
4363phil Posted October 25, 2008 Author Posted October 25, 2008 If i had a a tamper fault would the tamper light not be lit by itself? Is 0123 the dfault code? Tried 0123 - no joy I'm afraid it the control panel just keeps beeping!!!!!!!!!!
Chorlton Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 I'm no expert but MAYBE it's lost the programming info (entry route etc) whilst mains power & battery was removed. IF it is you need to get someone out to help. give it until Monday for other members who know better to help and if no further on I'll get someone local you can rely on to help for a reasonable fee. (unless you live too local & I'm gonna hear that bellbox at 2am, lol) C.
4363phil Posted October 25, 2008 Author Posted October 25, 2008 Thanks bud sounds like good advice - was starting to think along those lines myself e.g. it may need reprogrammed or reset. Still its not all bad, Falkirk just beat Killie 2-1 - get in!!!!!!!
Adi Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 new battery needed I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.
