Matt the Teckie Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Hi all, it's been a while since I've posted anything new but here goes.... Hope you can help. I have a Baxall Vivid that I need to decrypt the video partitions from the HDD (regardless of the status flag). However, the file system is Linux and therefore cannot be read by a Windows based PC. Does anyone know of a software utility or an extraction method using telnet or ftp? I'm up for creative ideas if you have any. I've flirted an email off to the machine's designated repair centre but haven't heard anything back from them. Thanks guys Matt
james.wilson Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 if its a linux unencrypted partition then it will probably be ext3 fs. If so then id just oot a linux live cd, such as pclos or ubuntu and see if you can read it. But i doubt you will be able to do much as im assuming the fs is encrypted or the jpegs are. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
Matt the Teckie Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 Thanks Redbull, I'll give that a try. I reckon I only need the partition files and let the software client do the decrypting. fella
