Replacing Control Panel And Sounders

i am up gradeing my alarm control panel one fiited now is a sterling 10 and 2 ventcroft compact sounders,

i can get one of the sounders strobe to stop flashing even when i remove the strobe neg wire at the control panel.

i am go to fit a texecom premier 48 panel the problem i have is that one of my bell boxs is above a conservatory that i can now longer get to is there a way to stop it from ring when i remove the power to it as i know that it should ring when the power is removed i will be replacibg it with the the new oydssey 5 sounders and 1 will be fitting them in a place that i now can get to

I once did that with an old, really tatty bell box. It looked like it probably wouldn't even work.

..... but it did work .... and it didn't have a timer ..... and it sounded for 7 hours! Boy, was I popular.

LOL. They dont make em like they used to.

As it happens, I'm sitting in our office waiting for emergency lights to pass 3hr drain down. Right on Q the new units (less than few years old) went out after 3hrs + poss ten mins. The older units (at least 20-25yrs old) are still as bright at the second we turned the mains off.
