scotyjohn Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 About to install a PIR within the kitchen area off the house, the rear patio doors are the weak point off the security off the house hence the extra secuiry required here. just wonder would a door contact be better suited to cover the patio door area or will the pir be good enough for the job ?? just not sure if the pir will pick up different light conditions etc thru the doors themselves and activate the alarm, best sited at the top corner off the room or what ?? lastly- can a pir be sited to avoid picking up a dog walking within the monitored area or would a dedicated pet friendly PIR be deffinatly required ?? already have the pir as opposed to the door contact so if it would be suitable for the above job then all the better.
Alarm Protection Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 Depending on how big the dog is i still would fit a contact to the patio doors maybe combined with a shock sensor.(Not on same zone though) !
Omega Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 Just adding to the previous reply, It may be worth taking into consideration the dog and if he is liable to trigger a shock sensor if he liable to jumping against the patio doors! Regards
