MBroome Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 It is possible to change the time it takes for the alarm to sound when entering a property? I've recently purchased a new house with an Veritas 8 alarm with the control panel fitted by the front door, but I often use the back door as entry and don't have time to make it from the back door to the panel to de-activate the alarm before it sounds. It sounds in approximately 5 seconds and I was wondering if there was any way to change it to give me say a 10-15 second delay? Any help will be very appreciated. Thanks in advance, Mark
shinfieldmonkey Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 sounds like the back door isn't set up as a entry route. This can be changed as well as the entry delay in the engineer menu. however, you will need the engineer code (not user code) to do this Mark Terry A.M.I. MBroome Posted November 18, 2008 Author Posted November 18, 2008 So it can be done and I just have to get the engineer who fitted it back? I've got all the installer details with the manual.
Gopher Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Yup, just give them a call and they'll be able to help you out, probably be a small fee involved since your not on their books as service customer. MBroome Posted November 18, 2008 Author Posted November 18, 2008 , thanks for the quick reponses. How do maintenance contracts work for alarms? A monthly fee but if there are any problems they'll come out and sort it for no extra cost?
james.wilson Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Depends on the contract, but usually yes. For example we do a comprehensive (as you say above all faults of the system covered) but would charge if you had caused it ie water in sensor etc But comp is only available on equipment we have supplied, so is the std on all new systems. We then offer std which services the system every 12 (or 6) months and does not cover parts etc. This is then upgraded to hybrid (where the parts we have replaced are comprehensive and the rest std.
