FireComm Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Hello everyone, I have a but of a problem with a kentec syncro running hochiki loop sounders. With ever increasing regularity I am getting sounder disconnected faults from loop base sounders, sometimes if I unplug them and refit them the panel will clear and never show them again, for others they are permanant. It is a fairly new system so its unlikely they have all gone faulty already, but its never to soon I guess. The kentec syncro sees them if I power down th eloop and let it relearn for 20 minutes but then it quickly misses them again.Any ideas would be much appreciated.
esp-protocol Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Are you using YBO bases or the older CHQ-Bs......?? Have you spoken to Kevin at Kentec Technical.....??
John Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Too obvious maybe, but water in a sensor or sounder anywhere on the loop can cause spurious fault messages ("sounder internal fault" is another). Fire Member
esp-protocol Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Are you using the YBOs as stand alone sounders or behind detectors? Have you tried swapping the bases to see if the fault follows the base ? We've had a few problems with "internal faults" on CHQ-Bs but but not on YBOs....
FireComm Posted November 26, 2008 Author Posted November 26, 2008 Well thanks for your help, Im assuming they are faulty now, put them in a programmer, it couldnt see them so i guess they have failed. theyare mounted behind the smoke detctors,Have ordered some replacements so I will hope that works. thanks all Are you using the YBOs as stand alone sounders or behind detectors?Have you tried swapping the bases to see if the fault follows the base ? douglasdocherty Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Quite a few engineers having similiar issues with new Hochiki kit, had to flash an Advanced panel before new loop beacons would work. Ask tech for a flash upgrade for panel AWACS UK Website email: advanced warning and communicated systems installation...intergration...innovation
unimatrix1066 Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 have you tried testing it by the panel , it could be a wiring issue
