Thanks for the info cheers

Yep someone earlier on this thread mentioned a "rule of 5" so you`ve just confirmed what I suspected :D

Does anyone know if "unmanaged" switches are all I require? I imagine they are as the router at source will be the "master" with DHCP enabled which will distribute IP addresses and as such only simple unmanaged switches will suffice.......?

You're safe with unmanaged. Part of the job of a switch is to sort out the routing - as opposed to hubs which simply broadcast to all devices regardless.

They will do, and for what its worth I run a TP Link Router at home that has been very reliable.

Gigabit will run over Cat5E, chances are it will be overkill in your situation unless the cameras are high megapixel units

The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct!

(Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)

cheers Breff, its always good to hear positive comments about a brand you havent had any experience with before taking the plunge, even though they aint expensive its just the hassle factor of getting replacements if they turn out to be junk

Take a look at Milestone - integrates with Net2 as well to pull up cctv as people go through net2 controlled doors.
