Hello everyone,

I tied to set my alarm last night and would not set.

Entered code, asked if i want to set, press yes and just goes back to unset home screen.

I have tried to part set, use different codes and fobs, but same problem all the time.

Is my panel buggered?

Pls help.

Thanks in advance.

Andy,

The 816 are very reliable and solid panels.

I would power down and power up. Please remember there is 240v in the panel. Also check the back up battery inside the panel.

Try this first as it sounds like thae panel has locked.

cheers

That's great thanks for that.

Did not think to try something so simple. Will try later when back at home.

Will let you know.

Thanks again,

I know this happens to other panels in the range, but havnt heard (or seen) it on an 816 before - are there any panic buttons connected?

Hi,

All sorted. I feel such a fool though!

I reset panel when I got in at 9pm last night, as soon as it finished powering up

it went in to full alarm, master blaster as well.

Turns out my brothers mrs, popped a panic button and it had latched! I reset with the key and no problemo.

I had a fright though.

Thanks everyone, once again.

thats good news, as I said I know of it with other panels but NEVER with an 816 - could you have misquoted the original symptoms
