Doonhamer Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Hi The alarm control panel in my parents house makes an intermittent buzzing or humming noise. It's quite faint, like a transformer noise, but it changes volume. Trouble is the panel is in a cupboard in the hall but on a wall that has their bedroom on the other side. This amplifies the noise. They never us the alarm so my dad just switched it off. But after about 10m the low battery warning came on and the alarm sounded. So he had to switch it on again. Firstly, how can I switch it off completely? And then how can I fix it? Thanks for any help

Replace the battery as a first move.
digitel Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 i agree ,excessive draw from faulty bat tends to rev up the transformer how ever i did come across a few aritechs that had loose transformers ( not as bad as texecom though ) problem is to fix this and a new bat you need to go into the panel which i would advise against ,not only is there live parts if the tamper reset has been set to engineer then you wont be able to do anything ,my advise is to call a local nsi or ssaib company to check it out .
