Rulland Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Hi,most external sounders derive 12v DC from the main panel-this is the normal voltage for standard intruder equipment. It would normally be supplied via alarm cable-usually 8 core to the ext sounder-outside diameter being around 7-8mm. SDS is refering to a decent drill that is capable of drilling into the loft area at an angle from the sounder location. Kind Regards. Richard.
Alarm Protection Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Your alarm panel will have connections on it for the external bell. Feed the bell from the panel. Outside you can drill at an angle below the roof guttering into the attic or small hole in the soffit and fish the cable up from there. If you have a cupboard upstaris then you can drill into this but at the end of the day the cable must go to the location of the panel. Think twice and drill once! !

james.wilson Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 you dont want to run mains to your bellbox. Its a bad idea. Instead run a low voltage cable and put your transformer psu etc elsewhere. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
