Guest tony5436work Posted June 22, 2004 Posted June 22, 2004 Just wondering if anyone on here uses the LCD keypad (its an optional keypad with zone names and that) for the Accenta 8 G3, usually I think most people use the standard one - put on upgrading my one its caused a problem When I first installed the keypad and fired by system back up (which was already installed), it went into tamper mode, but the keypad wouldnt accept anything and also the power led was out Eventually I reset it with the pins on back, and then entered my code Now tho every so often it just crashes out with out any reason - door chime etc all still works, but cant do anything (tamper isnt on and battrey has recently been upgraded) anyone ? Tony
Guest oldtimer Posted June 22, 2004 Posted June 22, 2004 tony I am probably telling you to suck eggs but have you wired th rkp as per the instructions. Also look out for the tamper spring on the rkp. these can cause probs sometimes if you are not sure then link it out on the terminals. Also instead off adding it with the existing rkp disconnect the original to see if the new unit works on its own
Guest tony5436work Posted June 22, 2004 Posted June 22, 2004 hello oldtimer, i reinstated the original keypad to the system and this works fine, altho so does the LCD one after a reset with the pins on the back of the pad has anyone had experience with these? dont think they are very common help
DGMarsden Posted June 23, 2004 Posted June 23, 2004 Just out of interest, what extra features does the LCD keypad give? I take it it has zone descriptions? Anything else? Dave
Guest lev Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 It only gives banner text, zone descriptions and mimics the LED displays using text. Before you ask, No it does not do Time and date.
Guest RICHL Posted June 30, 2004 Posted June 30, 2004 The crashing could be caused by induction - check for that and fit an act1313, also Id put a capacitor across the incomming mains. IMHO these two items should fitted as standard on ADE panels what with their habit of crashing.
