SydoIT Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Hi All - I wonder is anyone can shed any light on an issue were having with SMS and a Galaxy G2-44 panel with a GSM unit ? We currently have installed a G2-44 Comms, control panel and cannot get the thing to text message at all, we have the GSM unit installed with an o2 PAYG sim and have configured the following options 56 - 5(GSM) -17 (SMS Paging) 1 - Mobile Numbers ( we have three numbers in here two set to Alarm & Fault Condition 1 Set to Alarm only) 2 - Center Number We have tried three different numbers in here 00447802000332, 00447802092035 & 00447958879889 3 - Format TAP (Default) 4 - Site ID (a text string) 5 - UCP Operation 3 SMS Message We have also set the hardware prority to be off for telecomes and on for GSM We have also checked Menu 60 Option 61 and the signal level is at full. When we reset the control panel and force an alarm condition we get SMS Comms Fail with any of the settings ? Can anybody give a definative step by step guide to getting this working corectly ? Also, we could do with knowing how to get hold of the remote servicing software for this alarm - is it only available direct from Honeywell ? Thanks in advance Neil Sydo Security Services.

hpotter Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 I assume you got credit on that SIM. Sounds silly but its happened before...
SydoIT Posted January 7, 2009 Author Posted January 7, 2009 yep all credited up and can call out with it in a phone... does what we have setup look like it should work to you ?
hpotter Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Sorry dont do Galaxy, (sure them guys will be online in a while). Mentioned credit as (royal) we have overlooked ourselves on sites.
breff Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 I once had a GSM unit on a Premier that the PIN code request was turned on for the sim, put it in a phone, turned off PIN, et voila. I doubt thats your problem if you've dialled out on a phone with the sim. The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
