Deltaseven Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 Watching the news tonight - the new Queen Mary liner has some short-comings in the fire-retardant properties of the materials in the bathrooms. So - the answer? A smoke detector in every bathroom, additional sprinklers and more regular smoke patrols (every 15 minutes). I spluttered into my coffee when I heard the details of the job - 1300 smoke detectors. To be fitted between tonight at 5.50 and before the ship sails tomorrow at 6 PM. Anyone reckon they could do it in that time? Do you think they are just stand-alone detectors or to be added into the existing system? D7

integrafire Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 They would have to report back to comply witj BS but i think the rules change for sea bound vessesls. If they had to comply to french regs they would need a canery per room.
Guest Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 same here, got a pair of wrappas myself, well worth the money, better than the sells i had before.
Selsport69 Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 Yeah I prefer Selsport over Sells. If you get a chance try the HO range. I had the MGC and found them top notch at a fraction of the price. Kev
Selsport69 Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 Gaz, I see you have the 2004 version. Are they any better than last seasons? I have a pair of Aqua Wrappas and Normal. The Aquas were superb in wet weather although when they drie out the palm starts to break up. Kev
