RussellB Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Hoping someone can help - It's Sunday 10:45 and the (really annoying, high pitched) Low Battery warning alarm has just begun to sound on the control pad of my inherited accord xpC. How can I silence the Low Battery alarm until I can get the problem properley fixed? I inherted the sysem about four years ago but have never really used it. I have all the manuals but there are no instructions about silencing the low battery alarm. Of course, there is no contact - in fact the previous owner and ADT were in dispute over the whole system at the time we bought the house. I'm technically competent so can follow instructions about opening the box, disconnecting power etc. I don't want to dive straight in, I assume there are anti-tamper mechanisms. Any help would be appreciated - you can call/text me on my mobile if you wish, xxxxxxxxxxxx (I'll call you straight back) or email xxxxxxxxxxxxxx I'll continue searching for a fix and post to let you know I'm sorted. Thanks in Advance, Russell
RussellB Posted January 18, 2009 Author Posted January 18, 2009 Done it! - Tried the default engineer's code, *, # (to put it into programming mode) and the alarm stopped. Now to find out how to replace the battery considering any tamper measures. Russell
chexsec Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 If you are able to enter engineer programming mode you have no problem. When in programming mode you can open the control panel to gain access to the battery and replace it without the system going into tamper. Make sure you connect the new battery the right way round and that the cover is fitted correctly (closing the tamper switch) before exiting engineer mode.
RussellB Posted January 18, 2009 Author Posted January 18, 2009 chexsec - Thank you for taking the trouble to reply, your advice is a great help and will save me much time. Really appreciated. Best Regards, Russell
