Powermax+ Install Problems!

Hi all,

Last weekend I brought a powermax+ alarm after reading good reviews & it being easy to install.

I really didn't want to post but unfortunately I am stuck!

I have gone through & successfully enrolled 3 pir / 2 door contacts / the siren & various on menu items.

There are two problems that I have & after reading on this forum & other sites cant seem to get the exact answer that makes everything clear for my simple mind.

1. After enrolling the siren I keep getting SO1 siren tamper errors from the main CPU box. I can get rid of the tamper open but not the SO1 siren Tamper-Alarm. I have tried deleting the siren & re-enrolling using normal method instead of tamper, but no luck so far. Any other ideas??

2. Connecting the Powermax to the telephone line. I have a BT landline with broadband. I already have an ADSL filter.

Is it possible someone could step by step talk me through what I should do? e.g.

What lead do I actually need to connect to the phone line? I have brought both RJ11 - RJ11 & BT landline - RJ11

What wires connect to the powermax & where (Line or Set section)?

Do I need another ADSL filter as well as the one I have (connecting broadband & phone line)

Going by fig 3.3 pg 6 of the installer guide it shows another RJ-11 plug (not the X-10 in the middle) I don

i would suggest you havnt got all the tampers of the box correctrly closed. there are 3

ensure the backone is all the way in, and the lid is on properly and the led securing screw is tight. Then reset the alarm (or arm and disarm it) that should clear your tamper. If not you still have a switch open

you wont have a phone jack but will have connections.

You need to connect the 2 tel line connections to 2 and 5 on the bt end. YOu will need to filter it. You can either use a hardwired filter, connect it to the filtered side of a filtered bt master socket (if fitted) or use a plug in filter and wire the other end in. YOu will need to meter which one is which on you rlead. There are upto 6 connections on a bt socket. Starting from left to right they are 1-6 so you want the ones one connection in on both sides.
