cycloneuk Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 I am looking at buying a Visonic Powermax+, 2 pet pirs, 5 normal ones, 1 wirless bell box with 3 contacts, i would need to have this installed professionaly to comply with my insurance company, anyone on here from N Wales that can give me a quote for install. I was going to go with BT Redcare but got quoted
Keiko Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 The Powermax+ is a wireless system. Alll batteries are usualy included. It comes with a moulded mains plug though it needs an adapter to be able to plug it into a UK wall socket. So why dont you install it yourself? All you need is a drill and screwdriver. The programing is easy so you should not have any problems. Ian.
james.wilson Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 It wont help with his insurance problem and there is no one to counter claim on. Also its easy to stage a break in when a 3rd party isnt involved as no-one can verifiy the logs or prove the system is working etc. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
Guest RJBsec Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 If it's an insurance requirement get 3 quotes for a full install from 'local' installers, advising them in advance that you want a wireless system (though a wired or 'hybrid' system may actually be suitable for your requirements). That way if you have any equipment problems, as redbull says, you can get the installer to sort it - your way could get very messy!
cycloneuk Posted January 30, 2009 Author Posted January 30, 2009 Thanks guys, i had 3 quotes done but went with the slightly more expensive one since it was better spec, already half installed now and will be finished on Monday.
Guest RJBsec Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 already half installed now and will be finished on Monday. Don't worry, some work more slowly!
hpotter Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Don't worry, some work more slowly! Well it aint been subbed out on price, thats for sure. (heavens, hope it aint the wireless one),
cycloneuk Posted January 30, 2009 Author Posted January 30, 2009 A Scantronic wired 9751, 2 pet pirs, 5 pirs, keypad, bellbox, internal sounders, 2 contacts, 1 heavy duty one for just over 1k
james.wilson Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 just for clarity and its a minor point but there is a lot more to it than that. Minor point i know 4 wheels, engine, 3 doors, 3 wipers, 2 door handles, steering wheel and a handbrake for 2k good be good value, could be cheap, could be dear, could break down next week or it could be well specced, well designed, well installed and give years of trouble service (if maintained correctly) ps i was on about the car lol securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
