Guest TJM Posted June 27, 2004 Posted June 27, 2004 Does anyone know if it is possible to establish from the control panel which zone triggered the TAMPER alarm? I know that it is possible to get a log of alarm triggers and teh zone but I'm not sure if tampers are included ? Anyone know ?
Paul Giles Posted June 28, 2004 Posted June 28, 2004 petes right, tamper splitter from act meters does the trick PG Security Systems Somerset SSAIB Certificate of Merit Installers. www.pgsecurity.co.uk
Guest BRIAN Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 a staple across the tamper terminal also does the trick ha ah
Guest TJM Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 Thanks for the input guys. Unfortunately I think the problem is a dodgy tamper switch (3 I think) on the siren just need to figure out which one
Guest TJM Posted July 15, 2004 Posted July 15, 2004 Got the opportunity to look into the alarm today. The tamper circuit was easy to spot from the 6 zones and I beleive the tamper for the bell is connected to the BELL block and fed to the same 24 Hour tamper block as the 6 zones by a path on the circuit board. I've sourced the tamper splitter so hopefully this will help diagnosis. Does anyone know how to reset the engineers code on this unit ? I can use the MEMORY LINK options to reset USER CODE 1 and USER CODE 2 but I'm not sure this will reset the ENGINEERS CODE.
Guest TJM Posted July 15, 2004 Posted July 15, 2004 Reset fine. Had engineering guide and it's pretty simple to re-program. Have walked tested all areas and set the PART SET correctly. One option I can't figure out though is "Convert ID output to signal mains fail". What does this mean ? One (final) question : If I bridge the 24H tamper block will this disable tamper detection for all zones including the bell ? I think the tamper for the control box is seperate to the common tamper loop. Would I be correct in that assumption? The reason for all this by the way is that I have an intermittent tamper fault and with a common circuit its difficult to track down unless I get the TAMPER SPLITTER fitted. Disabling is a quick-fix.
Paul Giles Posted July 16, 2004 Posted July 16, 2004 Siren has its own tamper return. ID terminal is for viper reset etc.. Non signalling panel. PG Security Systems Somerset SSAIB Certificate of Merit Installers. www.pgsecurity.co.uk
Guest TJM Posted July 18, 2004 Posted July 18, 2004 Using the PA circuit - great tip Pete. Thanks very much. Tim.
