oxfordblue Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Hi, I have just moved into a property with the above alarm installed. It appears to have three sensors and a smoke alarm. There is no supply light lit but the alarm light is flashing red and the day light is on green. I have managed to locate the user manual and followed the instructions there but have not been able to reset the system. If anyone could tell me if this problem is indeed repairable I would be most grateful!
kka Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 age may be against it. look it this way, yes you can get someone in to fix it (chargable).it might give many more year of service. but seen you have just moved in why not take your good money and invest in a nice new modern system, least you will know the condition of that one. Monty Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Take it you have the correct code as the manual will tell you the default code ! which will most likely have been changed , only a thought !! www.AllanMoncrieffAlarms.com
oxfordblue Posted February 2, 2009 Author Posted February 2, 2009 Hi, Many thanks for taking the time to reply. I have tried the code included with the manual but, unsurprisingly, this didn't work. Does this mean that there is no chance of it working again?
stevie Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 am sure to reset these panels you have to press shift 3. the shift button looks like 2 arrows pointing up the way then button number 3. then you will be able to try the number.
oxfordblue Posted February 2, 2009 Author Posted February 2, 2009 Will make a note of that and try it when I get home tonight! Thanks very much!
Alarm Co Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 if you have the manual? use the secondry code a lot of people dont know about this code so is usually never changed ,, you can only use this code for setting and unsetting , thats all if you have lost the first-master code you need the memory wiping would advise you get an engineer to wipe memory re prog codes and service , check batteries etc and to reset codes you have to hold 1 and 3 on power up
oxfordblue Posted February 3, 2009 Author Posted February 3, 2009 Hi, Thanks for that - I only have the users manual (downloaded from the Pyronix website) and none of the codes there appear to work. It appears that I might be struggling to fix this myself - therefore is this particular system worth repairing ( by wiping the memory etc) or should I just invest in a new alarm systerm? If anyone has any idea how much such repairs would cost (Sheffield based) that would also be appreciated! if you have the manual? use the secondry code a lot of people dont know about this code so is usually never changed ,, you can only use this code for setting and unsetting , thats all if you have lost the first-master code you need the memory wiping would advise you get an engineer to wipe memory re prog codes and service , check batteries etc and to reset codes you have to hold 1 and 3 on power up
