tgoacher Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I've been asked to make some changes to a local CCTV setup and are required to rename the onscreen channel titles overlaid by a Computar QX-CS ii quad mux. There is no manual or software available for this unit at the site and Computar/Ganz are being unhelpful (they deny the unit exists). I can't see any obvious way of doing this with the buttons on the front panel. Does anyone have a manual for this or know the RS232 communication protocol for it, or event better, have some software that would do what I need to. Thanks in advance Tony
ian.cant Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I know the bit of kit you mean, its ancient which is probably why CBC dont know what your talking about. Cant help you with it in terms of changing the on screen texts, you only get about 8 letters and i would doubt that rs232 would be a method of changing it but i stand to be corrected there. Its isnt even a mux just a quad as far as i remember, changing the text should be simple, press and hold one or 2 of the buttons on the front might kick it into some sort of mode to programme it would be my guess.
