S/l Compact

We are buying a reposessed house which is fitted with an alarm (S/L compact with a Accenta key pad). The electricity is turned off at the moment and we are worried in case the alarm goes off when we have the electricity re-connected. Should we leave all of the electric turned off at the fuse box until we can get some one to have a look at it or is there something we can do. There is no sign of any manuals or paperwork in the house refering to the alarm.

If the alrm has been fitted properly you should find a fused connection unit adjacent to the main panel. (not the keypad).

I don't want to sound patronising but I don't know how knowledgable you are but the fused connection unit is the same size as a light switch, it has a removeable fuse in it.

Take the fuse out, you will then be able to restore power to the house without powering up the alarm.

If in doubt get an engineer in first or ask a sparky to pull the fuse.
