dewersec Posted February 10, 2009 Author Posted February 10, 2009 I know you won't take me seriously here but the YALE pet friendly sensors work very well.I have had problems twice with cats but that was simply because on one occasion I had put a hallway sensor too close to the open ballustrades of the stairs and the cat was in close proximity to the sensor when it went up and down stairs and on another occasion a cat used to climb around the top of the kitchen units to jump on a shelf full of cookbooks to sleep. The only other time I had a 'problem' with a YALE sensor was when a dog owner compained the sensors had been set off. I went over the conversation we had had where I explained that the sensors only worked up to 27kgs and he had assured me his pet wasn't that big. I looked at the animal but short of getting out some scales I couldn't by looking at it verify wether it was larger than 27kgs. The owner insisted it was under 27kgs so I fitted the system despite offering advice that I though he would be better with standard sensors but restricting the movement of his dog around the house. Anyway he demanded the pet sensors so I duly complied. He was quite uppity when the alarm went off more or less saying they were rubbish and hinting he should be refunded for the system. He then rang me a little more sheepishly after I had asked him to weigh his animal. Turns out it was 29kgs which just goes to show how precise the YALE sensors were. Rather than have an argument about the system not working correctly he than had the discussion with me I tried to make him have originally which was how can I secure the house with std sensors and where do I have to keep my animals away from when it is armed. What is it about pet owners? Its some kind of guilt trip that they leave the pets at home so they have to be allowed the full run of the house as a treat. Its not good for security and its certainly not good for fire prevention. Thanks Yale man does your missus fall asleep a lot lol mate Andy i dont rate them, there are better out there for the same price Adi so nothing new with these then they give it some with the bumf they put out about them. Fitted them now so I will report back on how they do. Andy
