Hi everyone,

Have been asked to quote for a take over of a the maintenance contract of a ADT Tyco fire alarm system. It is the Minerva MX100. I am fairly certain that ADT panels are closed protocol to some extent with issues taking over systems or getting service spares. Is this true or can anyone work on the system providing they have access codes? If an access code is avaliable is it necessary to have software to work on the system? With regards to the system do the devices self learn or is a manual loop learning sequence necessary?

Many thanks with your answers.

Leigh.

Hi Leigh as Jockney said it is closed protocol. You can still service the system and change detectors that are faulty (like for like) no programming necessary. But if you need to add or take away from the system you will need ADT I am afraid. Spare you can buy from them I think?. I do have a code for Minerva panels but do not post them on the Public Area - Pete

You'll find that the engineers code Pete will only work within your hub (ADT office) .

You would need to re address heads if you swapped them on an mx ,with the service tool.

Me fail English? That's unpossible

Can you not still do it via the panel - all the heads come pre-addressed with the same number. You then re-number it for the one you have taken out.
