mikeald Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 Hi all, I am a little out of touch with the current regs on installing a grade 2 or a grade 3 intruder system. I used to know all of this, but I left my job whereby I was installing galaxies all the time 2 years ago, I am purely external perimeter protection now. Anyway, I was wondering if you guys could help me familiarise myself with these two categories? My main queries are: Does a grade 3 system HAVE to have anti mask detectors? And what about a Grade 2 system, does the same apply? Can Redcare/dualcom be installed to a g3 system as well as a g2 system? On a g3 system do you HAVE to use fobs to set/unset? And what about a g2 system? Does a g3 system automatically mean that you have to have confirmed alarm in every room in order to get police response? Can you have police responce on a g2 system? THis is all I can think of for now!!!!! Any help much appreciated, guys Mike Intruder & Fire Member

mikeald Posted February 15, 2009 Author Posted February 15, 2009 gotcha, Thanks for the reply, Yes I know there is a lot more to it than this, I do remember most of it, but I have forgotten a few things. Ok, well this is great for now thank you. One more thing though: Who tells you whether your premises must have a g2 or g3 system? The insurance company? Or the security installation company? Thank you. mike Intruder & Fire Member
