bellman Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 why not go for a pyronix matrix panel We're going from bad to worse here !!!! Why not just put a piece of string across the doorway tied to some old baked bean cans, it's just about the same level of usefullness.... Bellman's top 5 "RUBBISH" alarm panel vendors 1, A1, variously sold under several different brand names, had 2 of these catch fire... 2, Pyronix, such user unfriendlyness. 3, ADE, nice alarm if you want to fry batteries.. 4, Advantor corp (Sonitrol), the most engineer unfriendly panels in existance! 5, Telecom Security, the old alarm side of BT, shocking panels Regards Bellman Service Engineer and all round nice bloke ) The views above are mine and NOT those of my employer.
p&ralarms Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 I think you should definatley go with a Galaxy. The first time I saw one (10 years ago), I panicked..... Now I know the programming and there is enough assistance on this site to help you along if you need it. Apart from the obvoius galaxy panels are incredibly flexible (See the Galaxy forum). Thats my tuppence worth anyhow!? Aron Trade Member
breff Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 Ive got an old bentley f133, series up all the pirs . But make sure theyre latching The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
Chris Teague Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 Bellman How about the Omnicron 9000? Arrrrrrrrggggghhhh Think we still have 2 out there somewhere. Galaxy I like very much, but for this chap I think a Gardtec 593 or similar for easy programming? bellman Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 How about the Omnicron 9000? 1, A1, variously sold under several different brand names, had 2 of these catch fire... A1 made several x000 series panels, the 9000 was one of em Regards Bellman Service Engineer and all round nice bloke ) The views above are mine and NOT those of my employer.
bellman Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 Think we still have 2 out there somewhere. Yeah, for all their cheapness, I still come accross these panels, more than a decade after they were made. "Anti-quality" perhaps... Regards Bellman Service Engineer and all round nice bloke ) The views above are mine and NOT those of my employer.
Guest Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 4, Advantor corp (Sonitrol), the most engineer unfriendly panels in existance! 5, Telecom Security, the old alarm side of BT, shocking panels i like those panels!!!!!!!!!!!!!and the focus was a great bit of kit
Guest oddsocks Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 Not too worried about the programming as I have plenty of time, and theres plenty of help here it seems! I was attracted to Texecom because there is a solution from one supplier, I need speech dialler with GSM backup, (to owner / keyholder). There is no problem with cost of panel, the difference is small compared with cost of GSM module. Can I get the same functionality from the galaxy and what else would I require/you recommend for the comms?
norman Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 4, Advantor corp (Sonitrol), the most engineer unfriendly panels in existance!5, Telecom Security, the old alarm side of BT, shocking panels but I rarely get called out to them!! Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
