Lectrician Posted July 5, 2004 Author Posted July 5, 2004 Its a domestic property, so IR beams would look a bit naff?? The PIR's you guys suggest, are they large and monster looking?? Email : martin@askthetrades.co.uk
Deltaseven Posted July 5, 2004 Posted July 5, 2004 FX-50 SQ is a great PIR - as Kipper saya, and not too bulky or obtrusive. Larger than an RX-40 (but similar shape) , smaller than a Sequad. Don't know if that helps...
Lectrician Posted July 5, 2004 Author Posted July 5, 2004 Had a look at the Fx-50 SQ on a web site, no mention of its IP rating etc? Email : martin@askthetrades.co.uk
Deltaseven Posted July 5, 2004 Posted July 5, 2004 According to the Optex spec-sheet, the FX-50 will work in humidity of up to 95%. See:Optex website for confirmation. Don't forget also that in extreme humidity, the water can also penetrate the cable insulation - a particular problem with ID systems. Keep your cable runs in the pool area as short as possible, and if possible, you may find it better to use some sort of screened cable, just to keep the moisture out. Obviously if you have a problem with moisture in the cable, you won't discover it for a few years... D7
Paul Giles Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 Yep we always use screened for id, better safe than sorry PG Security Systems Somerset SSAIB Certificate of Merit Installers. www.pgsecurity.co.uk
