DaleR Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 If you leave it blank in site details it then prompts you for a password when you dial, tried leaving it blank, but it still sits there.
james.wilson Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 are you connecting direct? ie via 232 or modem securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
DaleR Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Modem mate, I just read the manual for RSS, and it stated not to enter a password when connecting for the first time and then to set a password, I'm hoping I havent caused a problem by connecting to it the first time by trying to put passwords in there. A case of RTFM oops. never had a problem in work cos they already had passwords set up on them previously. As I stated i'm hoping I havent created a problem by trying to put a password in. Unless some of the later panels have a default password?.
james.wilson Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 no, if you have put one in then you will need to have it. if you havnt then you wont. Hopefully you know what you have used as there is no way to change it. id still be susecting modem issue. Is the modem you using able to connect to anything else? DaleR Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Yeah connects fine to a G3/Classic, with the help of init strings. i'm not sure if this version supports the G2 tbh, it's not documented in the manual. There is little info on what version the G2 requires.
james.wilson Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 you need the latest version of rss for g2. if you cant select its a g2 when you create the site then that version is too old securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
DaleR Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 you need the latest version of rss for g2. if you cant select its a g2 when you create the site then that version is too old Thats the case then... I'm gonna swap this panel for a G3 or Classic, feel this G2 is a bit limited. Thanks, Hope the original poster finds a solution to his problem, although im guessing if he reads through what you said RB, putting no password in should be the trick, if he's got the correct version.
