Well, thanks to all the advise and valuable information available in these forums, i decided to proceed with enlisting the services of professional installers to fit a new alarm system

I have 2 quotes so far from two NSI Gold approved installers for the system which consists of

A Galaxy 2-20 panel

Remote keypad with proximity & 5 fobs

3 Dual tech PIR (Using existing cables)

2 door contacts (Using existing cables)

1 external siren

Installation includes connecting existing speech dialer, ADSL filter, fused spur, battery...etc.

Certificate of conformity

The 1st quote was for

Quotes are thereabouts but I would see no reason for needing a G2-44 for the size of system you require.

Thanks RJB

I was thinking the same concerning the difference between the G2-20 & G2-44

I was actually leaning towards the 1st quote regardless, as they showed high level of professionalism in dealing with all aspects of the quote.

Is that first one including monitoring for the year? if so that is a very good deal, and in London.

No monitoring, (using existing speech dialler), and using existing cables!

How much for maint thereafter?

TCO etc.

Both seem about right for London, would expect 1st to be dearer on the annual maint. Both give no warranty on dialler & wiring? (ie untested)

No need for the G2-44 unless ya house is massive and you want expansion.

Panel does text anyway so why use the speech dialler. The texts are more site specific and carry time and date stamps and even the users unsetting if using that feature, great to see your children come home ect.

I was informed by a professional installer (member here) that since the installers will be using the existing cables, then the price is steep.

Both quotes exclude monitoring, but include a 1 year maintenance.

Maintenance thereafter is
