Thinks Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Hi All Got a mailshot from Screwfix the other day with what seems like a great discount on a Honeywell Alarm System that uses Proximity Fobs rather than an entry code. On the surface of it this would appear to be an ideal solution for my regular problem where the rest of the family don't set the alarm due to rushing out the door or worry about entering a code in time or forgetting the code in a panic etc. etc. Does anybody have experience with these systems, or can advise with pro's / con's for buying one ? Any help greatfully received

Prox-tags wil generally only set/unset the system, so in the event of an alarm activation/fault the code number is still needed to reset the system. Unless there is a good reason to use prox-tags on a DIY system I would say that there were more 'cons' than 'pros'. I don't know this system but I am sure it can be used with codes as well as tags.
