magic-sid Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Hi I really need to set a second zone as a second entry zone, I have fitted a Scan I-ON16 system, I have a door contact on the front door as Z1, Which is obviously timed. But when the client goes to bed they set the alarm, Then when they come downstairs in the morning they walk straight into the dining room triggering an instant alarm. Is there a way to time this Z2 (PIR) Also? I suppose this would be the same as if you had 2 keypads on a system, say one either end of a property and to exit entry routes where used, in this situation you would want another zone timed aswell.. Could anyone help how i go about doing this? Thanks
Fred555 Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 You could set the dining room zone to "Part Entry / Exit" then get the customer to part set at night that would give you a entry delay you could also enable Auto part set that way the customer could not "forget" to part set. OR Put a door contact on the dining room door set that to either "Part Entry / Exit" or just "Entry Exit" (but the Part E/E is more secure provided you can get the customer to play ball and part set - if you have an auto part set function on your panel all the better then set the exit mode to "Time and E/E" otherwise Auto Part Set will not work) then set the dining room sensor to "Access" not "12 hour" The above is Gardtec 872 / Texecom Premier Terminology you would have to investigate what these zone types would be on your panel. Do you mean they have no way of getting to the remote keypad without triggering the dining room? Or are they "forgetfully" doing it to later say the alarm "never worked"? Sometimes buyers remorse can be a terrible syndrome that can afflict an otherwise happy customer - snap them out of it pronto!
hpotter Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Pretty much as fred said: Create a part set, so customer presses b (4 bedtime ). Put dining room zone type as "entry route" Then all zones downstairs attribute as "part set" Choose part set exit mode as "timed" Finally, change part set entry route to "final exit"
