Guest oddsocks Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 Hey Guys, I am after 3-4 zone lighting controller - anyone got any suggestions / reccomendations? Also as lighting is so effective at detering problems / burglary are there any lighting experts that would be willing to start a lighting thread? (apaologies if I didn't see it) As a CCTV engineer/manager I have noticed that premises with good lighting systems require CCTV much less, I would not be suprised if this also affected intruder alarm industry. I often have to upgrade lighting for CCTV or install I/R and I wonder on many occasions if CCTV would be required at all on some sites if they had adequate lighting. Also if anyone has some figures relating to percentages of break-ins with/without alarm systems I would be very interested. Paul
Guest Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 cant beat the gjd opal gear,or for good general lighting some good son fittings on timers provide good background lighting for cctv.as is known light and sound deter the scum of this world
breff Posted July 11, 2004 Posted July 11, 2004 Also if you use GJD Elites instead of Opals they have inbuilt relays for tripping CCTV as well. Good Kit, very rarely goes wrong. The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
Service Engineer Posted July 11, 2004 Posted July 11, 2004 The Elites are worth the extra money, we have fitted loads of the GJD lighting controllers and have had very few cause us problems, still have some units going strong after 10 years. ........................................................
