y-i-out-of-bed Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 nothing like full pal cameras and a good dvr, think vista does good res cameras 502 tvl? (off top of head) and dvr that dose not say 50pps total best bet any dvr that each cam can be 8pps+ at good quality. so units that say over 150pps total might do it but i hate the turm total pps as this meens that some magic is going on to save hardware.
james.wilson Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 better cameras will make a difference however the pal std is limited to about 600tvl (625 is the max lines but they are not all useable) In pixel count this can run at 720x576 pixels maximum. Doesnt matter is the camera has a 200 megapixel chip (it wont) the transmission system (PAL) is a analouge and is limited to that res. see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/576i for more detail Now most dvr's run at cif or 2cif SQCIF 128 securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
Alpat Systems Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 A good quality IP cam and not just megapixel! will wipe the floor with a like for like "tradional" Analogue camera. EDIT...Redbull bet me too it
james.wilson Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 oh and fps dont really come into it re quality of image. Granted a high fps is desireable but at what cost? I personally see little need to go much above 5-7 fps per input for general stuff (sometime 2 fps is more than adequate) As i have said before 1 fps of quality is far better than 25fps of #### and think about it.... if using 2 fps how far can you travel in half a second? (ie engines etc excluded) A good quality IP cam and not just megapixel! will wipe the floor with a like for like "tradional" Analogue camera. qfa securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
y-i-out-of-bed Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 yeap "hand - stock" "back terned" no idea if thay actualy took any thing well intill thay have there pants so full of meat thay carnt walk lol would love high fps but cost again also more than 15min per cam might help as well, replaced and focused in 15min?
james.wilson Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 5k and 10 cams aint gonna go if you want high quality. Axis 221's would cost more than that on their own. Id advise him to save the 5k up and do it right. The 5k will be a waste unless your not expecting much. Granted it will ber improved. It will be much improved but your limited by the analouge transmission system. think about this Camera - playback pc CCD analouge---converted to digital for processing----processed-----convert to analouge for transmission over coax/tp-----connection to dvr----converted to digital to process---- with IP its converted to digital at source (ie as a digital camera) then stays digital all the way through. How much quality is lost on all those conversions, and what quality is each ADC and DAC? securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
