samnaffy Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 I have installed an alarm in a ward for a hospital and the security want to know the best way to alert them of the alarm if activated. I have thought of using the digi or a speech dialer but does anyone know if there is a program to alert a pc using phone line via i.p via some sort of software. There must be a solution if there was 20 seperate wards with 20 seperate alarms rather than having them all monitored via digi??? Any posts grateful.
antinode Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 What panel have you fitted? Galaxy supply the Alarm Monitoring package for their panels which enables a PC with the software installed to recieve signals from the panel. It's not cheap. What's wrong with using the built in digi to signal to a proper ARC on Key Holder only? You could enable SIA signalling if the guards want to pinpoint the area of the activation. Using an onsite PC could potentially be very troublesome, especially with the security guards trying to use it. Trade Member
samnaffy Posted March 31, 2009 Author Posted March 31, 2009 its a 9751. My company have taken over the existing company and there are a few gardtech panels that they installed. Dunno bout you but i fink them panels are s**t. I fink digi is the best way but could be expensive if they want 20 systems monitored. Just thinking of a more user friendly way. Thanks for your help.
y-i-out-of-bed Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 castle and galaxy do monitoring software though i would fit big euro and set up wards then rig up a 16 output unit with leds for each ward in security office with buzzer and if you want fit these on a mapboard to show them ware to go all depends if office is on site or not, also thay can patrol and shunt each ward as thay walk round useing readers. think same can be set up with galaxy but dont know if thay do output mod with more than 4 outputs as not needed one, i know castle do though. same could also be done with separat alarms then wire all intruder outputs back to office but i think you can see that intergrated system with an output mod would save a lot of time hope this helps
antinode Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 In an ideal world you would need to rip all the individual panels out and get the whole site on one system with the digi signalling area alarms to an ARC. Trying to monitor 20 seperate systems on one site is never going to be cheap if it needs to be done properly. One other option might be to use 2 or 3 of the big 8 channel Scanny radio recievers located in the security hut, with a universal transmitter connected to the intruder ouput of each panel on site. You could then connect the outputs of the reciever to a custom made indicator board with a general alarm sounder and individual indicators for each panel displayed on a plan of the site. Trade Member
y-i-out-of-bed Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 radio sounds better than draging cables back to office depends on how far though as radio cost a bit more for parts, also i was also sergesting ripping the alarms out and replace with one big beast of a system, i have work on collage set up this way, one big euro shame that it was wired in id also you could recomend that all fire doors are put on map on 24hour alarm. castle euro software is free only to eng though
hpotter Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Could use on board digi to arc as suggested or use 769/768 to get 16 channels (each channel can handle 4 xmitters - though that could pose id probs like which ward?) If you get 2 x 769/768 would give you 32 channels and each id on show, no need to make up bespoke etc. use eg 703 on each ward.
