Guest MattM Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 I really hope someone might be able to offer some advice on this one before my neighbours put my head on a spike! I need to do some electrical work in my house and unfortunately the sockets I need to work on aren't on their own breaker. So I have to power off the whole house and in doing this, the alarm sounds. I'm certain it never used to do this, but I can't find a way to stop it without turning the power back on. I have access codes for both the master user and the engineering mode but can't seem to either turn off this feature or stop the siren sounding when the power goes. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer, Matt
bellman Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 Matt, Your back up battery in the panel is stuffed. Take the battery out and dash off to maplin electronics and get a replacement.. Regards Bellman Service Engineer and all round nice bloke ) The views above are mine and NOT those of my employer.
Deltaseven Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 Oh - and hope that the NVM on your system is OK - there are a few of them out there that need defaulting and re-programming after a complete power down...
norman Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 And whilst you are at it get the Yellow Pages and get it serviced Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
Guest MattM Posted July 13, 2004 Posted July 13, 2004 Thanks for the advice everyone. I'll take a look at replacing the battery then. , Matt (Who didn't realise alarms needed servicing! Another item on the to-do list)
