the2ems Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 My daughter recently had some decorating work done, and the decorators set off the alarm when removing a mains smoke alarm (so they say) they tried turning off the trip switch, then eventually managed to contact my daughters partner who gave them the code. Now the alarm does nothing. There is no response when any of the buttons are pressed, and the light on the outside box is flashing. I think it just need resetting, but have no idea how. She has no instructions. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced engineer in Cardiff please?

y-i-out-of-bed Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 dose keypad have any lights on it? if not it might be dead and bell is flashing on its own battory, if not any name on the unit to help you out. it can just be that it has locked out and just needs user reset witch can be done by your code but as each unit has diffrent ways of doing this we would need to know what you have. if not beeping on keys then it could be accenta range in tamper this will show tamper led intill this is cleared, but also could be dead alarm, also check every thing thay touched when it went off it could be some thing simple but pro should find it no problem

Not sure which one, but don't think it is the tamper light. There are no sounds from the keys.

Also, there is a small box at the side of the control panel with what looks like a key hole, but there is no key. What would this be for?
camerabloke Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Will I find the battery in the control panel?Battery is in the control panel, but be careful as mains voltages KILL Also, there is a small box at the side of the control panel with what looks like a key hole, but there is no key. What would this be for? sound like it could be a panic button, should have a green bar in the window Eucam Security Systems 0845 4630 746 www.eucam.co.uk
Joe Harris Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I would strongly suggest having a professional come and look at your system. They can reset it and help advise on usage and how the system works. Opening the control panel is not recommended to anyone who is not trained in working with mains electricity. 'J
