DirectFS Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 your panel battery req replacing and your 240v is wired through your lights. Its your lighting cct that tripped not the alarm, but as for code try default eng code and if entry gained you can reset the master code via eng menu 2 ! Not necessarily, not necessarily. That's what the OP said - the Lighting circuit tripped AND THEN the alarm went off. Not that the alarm tripped. Makes realitvely little sense to suggest the default engineer code either, as if the OP knew that, they'd probably have at least some idea as to why an alarm system might activate after a mains fail. So, the battery may not even be faulty - we don't know from the OP in what way the alarm activated - it may have been internal sounders warning of a mains fail, rather than a full activation. However, it may also be the case that the OP was reporting the SAB was sounding. There is no rationale for suggesting that the system is powered from a lighting feed either. Many split load units will trip both the local MCB and the RCD covering the other side if there's a common earth. The single best course of action this OP can take is to call an engineer who understands the system, which the OP does not. Bill.
