muddymickey Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Hi As per my other post, I'm trying to spec up a system for a DIY install, and have pretty much decided I'm going for Texecom kit. I'll need 8 PIR sensors in total. Main criteria is that they are as immune to false alarms as possible. Are Texecom sensors a sound choice, given that I'm using Texecom kit ? If so, I'm trying to work out which of the following Texe sensors would be most suitable: http://www.texe.com/view.php?page=81 We don't have pets. In a couple of rooms, there is a whole wall taken up by floor-to-ceiling French doors. For example, if there are 4 walls facing N, E, S, W, then the E wall is fully glazed, and the sensor would be in the NW corner. If that makes sense ? It is likely that people will walk past the outside of these french doors, and they also face east so will get bright sun in the mornings. Also, one room is a utility that will house a washing machine and tumble dryer; presumably these will emit changeable amounts of heat over time as they work through their cycles. Is the above going to be an issue ? Would I be best going for a dual-tech PIR/MW sensor ? Any advice very much welcomed ! Lee
