timmo Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 I know these panels are ancient now but I have just put an old galaxy 16 in my home, all wired up ok... however, i have two prox keypads to use on it and apparently, prox's can only be used on galaxy 18's or above with a certain software range too! I guess i shall have to hunt down a galaxy 18 or above PCB to replace the 16 i already have - i certainly don't have the money to buy a brand new galaxy system and also, i don't want to ged rid of the big metal housing my current pcb lies in - i guess a large chunk of the cost for new galaxy would be down to the metal housing anyhow! Any suggestions from anyone?

james.wilson Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 you can use the metal housing but you will need an 18 pcb, a new transformer and a 1a or 3a psu board. The 18 and the 16 are very very different. Id suggest buying a 2-20 or looking for a whole 18 or 60 securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.

rs-485-bus-driver Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 is the prox a big issue? the keypad side of the mk7prox should still work. letting you use the alarm with codes just now untill you get the cash together for a g2-20 or better.
