john@total Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 I know this topic has proberbly been discussed before but which Dvr's do you suggest for the best remote viewing. Used dvr365's, LJD Apollo (never again!!) and DM's in the past. Have seen Teleye in motion and it look quite impressive for the money. Any opinons would be great.

They also have there own type of Dyndns called surelink, which updates itself every 15 minutes.
Phaeton Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 I used to be a warehouse manager in a past life & had 3 warehouses, we had DM's installed in all 3 never had a problem with them in the 3 years I worked for the company. Could view all the cameras & use the PTZ's just like you were in the building, little slower but all worked great. No idea if there is a better product, but we were happy with our choice. Alan...
satsuma01 Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 we have a avtech dvr networked through internet and it works great from a domestic point of view, not really a commercial unit as its only a basic unit, but has ptz control and network / dial up remote view either through dedicated software or a web browser, but the money they are very popular, and good value for money, USer friendliness is a positive side to it aswell, we have had ours for about 18 months or so, and found it too be no trouble, http://www.iviewcameras.co.uk/imageupload/...&height=500 "If you carry your childhood with you, you never become old. Do you know if the HDD is IDE or SATA? Alan...

digitalwitness Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 We have found the Avtech units to be cheap and cheerful with good reliability, generally offer good value for money. Beaware that many of the Avtech units have simplex networking, which means everything you do remotely is reflected locally i.e. bring camera 1 full screen remotely also means its happening locally, not sure it will affect your application but thought it worth mentioning. BTW what put you off the Apollo DVRs? We do not sell them, just curious.
