LACKEYLAK Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 I have an internal Elmdene 600 sounder (SAB) and external Elmdene HS 700 siren/strobe (SAB) which I want to fit to a Galaxy G2-20. A couple of answers needed please. 1: Can I connect the 600 sounder +H and -H to the AUX pwr on the board so as not to overload the 500mA rating on the boards SAB connections. 2: If I do this, can I still connect the -R on the 600 to the boards SAB siren trigger. 3: I assume I can't parallel the RTN (tamper) from both sounders to the boards SAB "T" input. Do I have to set one of the triggers as a zone input, and if so, as ther SAB tamper is only a singal wire, (neg trigger) what do I connect to the zone common. For current rating, 1 x keypad 1 x dualtech PIR 1 x RF unit All other detectors are RF. Thanks for any help.
james.wilson Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 i would say that alone 2 sab wouldnt overlaod the standby capacity of that panel, but it depends what else is on it. Also it probably would exceed it in a alarm. Easy way to check is to meter the current they demand in both states. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
aismoresecur Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Agreed the elmdene HS pulls about 200mA in alarm and the INT600 about 180mA. As redbull says, you should meter the current in norm & full alarm conditions
LACKEYLAK Posted April 29, 2009 Author Posted April 29, 2009 I'll meter them tomorrow and see, what do advise on the RTN (tamper) circuit?
james.wilson Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 you have a couple of choice but id probably series them up. Basically feed the hold off neg of the 2nd sounder with the tamper return of the first. you could use a zone but you will need a relay ideally. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
Guest RJBsec Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I'll meter them tomorrow and see, what do advise on the RTN (tamper) circuit? Take the tamper return from sounder 1 and apply it to -0 hold off on sounder 2 (supplying, not duplicating the connection) and take the tamper return from sounder 2 back to the panel.
LACKEYLAK Posted April 30, 2009 Author Posted April 30, 2009 Ok borderline 500mA, so over time could blow the internal 500mA SAB fuse. Would it be a good idea to put the external HS 700 in SCB mode to reduce the draw in alarm condition.
