Guest dale
As I said in another post.... would be great to have another ARC, but your based in the US, so might not meet our strict police requirments for monitoring. Dale
Guest nitevizun
Actually, we are currently hooked DIRECTLY into the Police Department for them to monitor a site that has an alarm on it. this way the officers in the field can have instant real-time access to what is going on in/out of the building BEFORE they even step foot inside. We also provide a WI-FI solution for gov't vehicles they are connected to their system almost everywhere at 512k mobile. We included SIP (dual-mode SIP/cellular) phones in each vehiicle so they have instant communications as well. GPS vehicle real-time tracking as well. All of this is internet based. We are now becoming an "aggregator" for the MMT rural fiber network for the state (more later) so we can add the system state-wide.

morph
The members on the this forum are mainly Uk based and generally our Police vehicles dont have terminals in their cars, we have town centre cctv systems that generally connect to council control rooms and via a fibre or wifi link to a Police control room. Officers and officials don't generally get to view the pictures, they get information relayed over a radio(voice), however some of our ambulances and fire engines do have the capabillity of transmitting pictures from the scene of an incident. Our Police forces are currently implementing a new radio system which is supposed to be able to offer enhanced facillities like data and video imaging, but its like the army radio system its proving harder to get it working than it was supposed to. How secure are your wireless video links then? and are they encrypted? Colin.
Guest nitevizun
They have 256 encryption on the first link, then 7 layers of encryption on the towers. The whole system is relayed by VPN over our system from the vehicles to their VPN server. VERY high level of security. The SIP WI-FI phone system is encrypted the same way.
