rallyingden Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I have the melcom ST6100 Alarm Panel, Currently fitted with a single PIR and a 6600 remote LCD keypad. At this point the system seems working fine and I want to program the name of the zone into the remote LCD. This after all was the whole point of getting the lcd keypad. According to the manual... Enter programming mode (fine) Enter engineer programming mode (fine) Enter 48 (zone name - fine) Press 1 (for zone 1, fine) It now says to enter two digits for the table which correspond to the name. For example to set zone 1 to the front door you enter 35 (the code for front door). But this is where the panel just sits there with zone 1 showing and I cannot enter the two digit number. Also the red PA light is flashing when i do this. If I try to do this on the main panel, then it starts asking me for an exit delay time (???) so I personally think that there is a programming step missing in the manual. I have tried two RKP and there is only one PIR connected at present all working o.k. apart from this issue. Melcom don
antinode Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Not sure if you will be able to get any assitance here for this panel. It's not really a professional panel and they are quite low quality to be honest. I would look into purchasing something a bit more upmarket from a proper online security shop. You can pick up a quality LCD panel for between Trade Member
djrock Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 I agree with antinode but here is the website url with the contact details for the maker. http://www.lynteck.co.uk/contact.html djrock
FASTCAR Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Agreed with above , poor panel (would suggest the Gen4 if you want a cheap LCD), also the fact that you have a flashing PA light would suggest that maybe your programing is suspect..not helped by a poor manual. Have you checked keypad addresses?.
