Guest stefano
The previous was my first contribution ever! After reading it, I realised that the topic is not clear: I am referring to DSC, an American manufacturer. Hi there! This is not a review - I am asking for one... Have you heard of this company (DSC)? Is it reputable? Is anyone familiar with its wireless equipment? Is it reliable? Thanks for your help. Stefano. Guest Adrian
B) Well I have heard of DSC I believe they are big in Canada. I have never come accross one in the 5 years I have been an engineer. But that dosn't mean they are no good, I saw their stand at IFSEC this year most of their stuff sounded good. Sorry not much help really! Guest Andyp
Only just stumbled across this question. DSC is a manufacturer that is now part of the Tyco empire. Tyco also includes //.National Installer.//, Wormold, Scott, Ansul and Sensormatic to name a few. They make all things alarmy including panels and detectors (hardwired and wirefree) They are/were very well respected, especially in the US and Canada (DSC stands for 'Detection Systems Canada' I believe) so I would have no hesitation in using their equipment. Deltaseven
My first posting - I have been working in another industry for a while, but on my way back in to electronic security! Worked for several years in Zimbabwe, where the market is dominated by DSC (Digital Security Controls)(probably about 50-60% of the systems). I highly recommend them - their detectors are pretty good - probably just below the standard made by Optex. Internal PIRs can be slow to trigger when set to 2 pulse, but can be prone to false alarms on 1 pulse. Panels also excellent - (I believe the DSC PC510 - 4 zone is the world's best selling consumer panel). The panels are very reliable - I have never had a dead panel, end even a panel struck by lightning was still working (the customer reported a burning smell - but it turned out that the telephone input had been struck). One of the best wireless systems I have ever used too (and I am not a fan of wireless) - but expensive... Still you get what you pay for!
Guest bladedawg
DSC- are a medium market sharer in AUS, I have worked on due to my large franchise - client base, all the panels in the range DSC510, 550 560 - 4 zones ( very s*** until the 560 version) even still there is better around>... 1550 are everywhere, 6 zone limited in options compared to whats on the market now- 2550 - 8 zone ok , Power 832, is the expandable version, check it out www.dscgrp.com I am against Large CONGLOMERATS, but anyway thats my opinion I prefer detection systems _ Solution products, or Ademco - Sierra products (ex C+ K) also I do not like the detectors due to the fact that they are not made for AUS climates, etc but its like ford and holden,,,, volvo and Mercedes
