thealarmingman Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 I have taken over a CP8 as the original installer has been taken over and client not happy with new company. The alarm panel states low batt despite being replaced. Everything else appears OK. Do not have access to engineer code, definately not default and at this stage do not wish to attempt a reset in case it starts with 9. Any ideas that would not invoke engineers code yet clear the low batt status.

Alarm Protection Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Deffo check the fuse in the leads to the battery but also if blown may and not all the time blow the Aux fuse. I had a 595 panel that blew the aux fuse but not the battery fuse last week...changed battery and now all ok! I realise you cannot access the engineer menu but if you could then view the diagnostics log as some panels had to be changed for max volts and min volts for battery. Tbh you should be able to access enginers mode if you take the system over. Have had panels locked and for the money customers have paid for a new circuit board that we can fully takeover. !
thealarmingman Posted May 6, 2009 Author Posted May 6, 2009 check battery fuse. Thanks for this, will let you know how it goes - am at cust t'morrow.

Thanks for this will check all fuses. Not a panel I am familiar with.
thealarmingman Posted May 7, 2009 Author Posted May 7, 2009 Thanks for this will check all fuses. Not a panel I am familiar with. Replaced the in-line battery, checked aux fuse which had blown. Relaced twice. Replaced with 2A (all had left) and still blew. System no longer sets and low batt message remains.
Alarm Protection Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Did you replace the battery? If that does not solve it then there is a short. They had any decorating done lately? !
