Guest mr_smeeeth
I have inherited an alarm in my new house. All seemed OK when I first tested. Until my house was burgled and the alarm did not go off. I had a dodgy PIR and that has been swapped - all seems OK now except; 1. I have a problem with the entry/exit zone as it keeps setting the alarm off upon entry. 2. Does anyone have a set of programming instructions they can email me? Thanks Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/2867-veritas-8c/ Share on other sites
Guest dale
Im afraid this site doesnt give out installation manuals to members of the public, only trade members. Are you using the correct entry/exit route, also is your door contacts on your door, as these have to trigger before anything else. Guest mr_smeeeth
Thanks for the info, I will try the manufacturers website (if anyone knows it). The system is set up right I think, the entry/exit zones IS zone 1 and it is wired up that way. I have tried a walk test with all the zones and they work as they should. Maybe this is more of a programming fault than a system fault? Guest dale
Hi Mr Smeeth, The manufacturer is Texecom and there website is www.texe.com, they have pretty much the same policy as us (seen as manufacturers dictate our policy of giving out engineer manuals) so I doubt you will get a manual. The zone 1 default is (as you say) entry exit, althought it can be reprogrammed by the engineer at install. If the system has settings (and not passcode) has changed for some strange reason this suggests there is something very wrong with your system, therefore I would call a local alarm engineer and have them service your system. Guest mr_smeeeth
You have already suffered one burglary due to faulty equipment it makes sense to have it looked at by a proffesional spending £50 to £60 now could save you hundreds in the long run.Pete 17886[/snapback] Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/2867-veritas-8c/#findComment-17889 Share on other sites

Guest dale
Sorry if it seems we aint very helpful with regard to installation manuals, its just we get our knuckles wrapped if we give them out, they used to be free on this site, but threat of legal action made us remove them. Some people get offended that we seem to push them towards getting proffesionals out, ew do help with specific questions, but we do have to be careful.
