red2135a Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Attended a customer who has a Veritas R8. Customer has suffered a power cut and has left the panel with a flashing power light. I have tried the following:- Checked all fuses all okay checked incoming supply with meter - 240v with live and neutral okay tried a system reset - system reset to manufacturers default with engineers code going back to XXXX and customer code back to 4321 but still have flashing light. powered down system at circuit breaker - disconnected battery - waited five minutes - switched circuit breaker back on- replaced battery leads - replaced panel lid - entered code and reset twice. Green power light is still flashing When i try to set the alarm it continues to try and set up but just keeps going and going - no zone lights are lit unless i carry out a walk test and then the various zones light up at panel, but panel will not set and green power light continues to flash. Does anyone know the possible cause of this problem ???? - thanks!!!!!!
antinode Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Have you not checked the battery and panel charging voltage etc? That would be the first thing I would check after a power cut, especially since these panels will let a battery discharge completely in a prolonged power cut (not good). It will probably need a new battery. Trade Member

breff Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Flashing green light= no mains or faulty battery. Pull a battery lead off and it will go solid if the battery is faulty or go out completely if there is no mains The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
