Hi Folks,

I hope someone can help me set up the correct exit program for my scantronics 9800. I'm finding getting the correct sequence quite fustrating. banghead

Zone 1 is the door contact and zone 2 is the hall PIR. I have had each and both set-up as the final exit and exit mode set to both timed and final door. On each occasion when I try to set the full alarm, the alarm sounds and the display shows EF (Exit Fault) and when I enter the user code it shows zone 2 as the problem. My next attempt at programming the correct exit sequence will be Zone 1 as a normal alarm and zone 2 (the PIR) as the Final Exit with the exit mode set to final door.

Does anyone know what I should set it to to get it to work correctly and save my fustration. I'm only changing the settings on the three parameters mentioned. Is there an other I should be considering?

Zone 1 wants to be entry exit, zone 2 wants to be inhibited access.

Thanks for the speed response Dale.

I don't think I can program the 9800 as you describe. I can program each zone to be one of disabled, Panic Alarm, Fire Alarm, Normal Alarm, Final Exit, Entry route or 24hr zone. I think that is all the options I have. I have been trying various combinations of Final Exit and Normal Alarm for the two zones. I also tried Entry route for the PIR the results are always the same.

Zone 1 wants to be final exit, and zone 2 wants to be entry route. You have to make sure the door is closed when you start the exit procedure, then when you open the door it will make a funny noise, and when you close it the alarm should set (if its set to final door set, otehrwise wait for the time out).

Thanks again Dale,

I think I tried that before without success. I'll give it another go and see what happens. Maybe inhibited Access is an option but I don't remember it from the tinstallation guide. Certainly in would not be an option I would have tried as my interperation of the words would not be exit route.

Program zones fron eng programming,

zone one: option 0 1 5 clear

zone two: option 0 2 6 clear

Exit Mode option 39 press for 0 Timed or 1 Final door set

Hope this helps

There are no stupid questions, but there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots.

I like this site. The responses are so fast. Thanks jpaul, I know I have not tried option 6 for zone 2 only 3 and 5. Something else for me to try.

Thank you both for your knowledge and fast replies.

There is a possibility that the PIR circuit on Zone 2 (exit route) is still open when the panel tries to set on final door set (zone 1). try setting zone 1 as timed set.

I had actually set zone 2 to option 6 before. I had forgotten 6 was Entry route. I re-tried it but with the same results. I do have it working now. I think geov had the answer. The settings I have got now are both zone 1 and 2 are set to Final Exit (option 5), the Exit mode is set to Timed/Terminate set and the bit that got it working, I increased the exit timed period from the default 10 seconds to 20.

I would have thought having the Exit mode set to final door set, would have worked as the alarm should have set as soon as the final zone (1 or 2) was no longer triggered, but it didn't.

Thank you all again for your help.

Still wrong!

9800 is easy to programme, post your post code on here and someone will service it and programme it to your requirements.
