Engineering code

:help:

My house has an Accenta 8 (?) alarm system installed. The system has been in for nearly 5 years. I want to renew the battery in the control box. The installer has changed the Engineering code from default so I can't enter the control box without the alarm going off.

Any suggestions ?

POP the main panel lid, the tamper will activate. Normally the tamper can be silenced by just entering the main code. Change your battery and replace the lid. The tamper may again activate when you replace the panel lid. Just enter your master code again.

There will be some noise but if you are quick it can be kept to a minimum.

I'm not familiar with the Accenta 8 maybe one of the guys will advise you how to change the engineer code via a NVM reset or similar.

Hope this helps.

cheers

Thanks for the information.

Still have one problem - without having the installation manual I don't know what the default codes are.

Can anybody know where I can get hold of a copy of the installation manual?

B) Sorry lads

The Reset Reset thing works on the texacom panels not the ADE panels

If you only want to change the battery do as simmo said that is the easy way for you and less hassel as well.

You need to be in engineer mode to reset back to factory setting then what you can do is press the set button twice, Then you are back to factory setting.

Or if you don't have the eng code then down power the panel put a wire link between the left side of the pa and the set+ (far right terminal on the PCB)

Then power up with the battery then mains about 10 seconds later remove the link

put back any cables that you may have moved from the pa and or the set+.

Close the lid and press reset if needed and hey pressto it should be back to the factory settings again then read the manuel to reprogram.

A little tip for part set modes don't forget to give it an exit mode or that program will not work.

Good luck
