MrHappy Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Is it only me that worries about the quality of batteries, fitted in a UPS ? Rather than a genesis or yuasa, there always (APC anyway)of the black lynteck, risco, texecom type now most of us would not use these in our systems but, have one between a 1k+ dvr & the main..... Mr Veritas God
james.wilson Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Agreed, but my main concern with the UPS is the mains filtering. We chnage the batt to a yuasa as part of the service anyway securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.

arfur mo Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 UPS? CCTV? is it that comman then? with CCTv DVR's (and Telephone PABX's as it happens), fitting a UPS to the DVR is a very very wise precaution for what they cost, if not looking for massive long standbye times. reduces the instances of locking up especially on the cheaper kits, due to usually superior filtering, but also hiccups caused from short local disconnections by the power co. regs Arfur Mo If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
james.wilson Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 we usually fit an apc ups on all our cctv unless the client wants all the little bits like that stripped out. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.

Cubit Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 UPS? CCTV? is it that comman then? Used to be a necessity on the older units. Kicker was sites with backup generators. Genny kicks in, Hard Drives stuffed. Intellex were very susceptible.
