james.wilson
Enough time has passed now after IFSEC. What did you all think. My own view was it was nice to see a stronger instruder presence than last year. Is it too big, were the 'good old days' of securex etc better or do you prefer the size and format of IFSEC now. My own thoughts are that it has lost a lot of its specialist input. Seems more like an 'ideal home' or 'motor show' now more focused on end users and specifiers. Is this a good thing? I like the easy access of the NEC for me, but do think its too big now. I did however like that some manufactures kept 'ready' equipment quiet for a big ifsec release. Most notably for me was CSL's DUALcom inside. I also liked the OIP that GJD showcased and feel this platform has a long way to go. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount. A-G
I think it's all downhill from here It's very expensive to exhibit. IMO Ifsec depends on the money from Chinese and Korean CCTV companies and I'm not convinced they make enough to make it financially viable. ....... and most western manufacturers are there only because their competitors are and they don't wanna miss out ...... but some noticeable names were missing this year and i think that trend will continue. Sure Ifsec will survive ...... but not on this scale. . . . PM me for access to the SSAIB members discussion area.

arfur mo
i really miss the small really innovative stands that used to be up in in the gallery in London. while loads of it was junk, you could unearth odd devices and real little gems like bespoke tools or testing kit, sort of a 'boot sale' section of ideas. NEC isa good venue, but full of very very samey products, take hours\to find anything new. Arfur If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!! PeterJames
I saved money by inviting the reps to come to me, this way I only get to see what I want to see in the comfort of my own office, and I don't have to get up early and take a whole day of my precious time to speak to lots of people I didn't want to speak to, and another bonus I don't get all those scantily dressed young ladies lusting after me, and following me around begging me for my phone number and a date.
